Dr. Ann Avery graduated from the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed Internal Medicine Residency at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. After a brief time practicing in Arizona, she moved to Miami, FL where she completed her infectious disease fellowship training at the University of Miami/ Jackson Medical Center in 2003. She returned to Cleveland in 2004 to rejoin MetroHealth where she is Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University and the Director for the Division of Infectious Diseases. She has been the principal investigator for three Health Resources Services Administration (HRSA) HIV/AIDS Bureau funded Special Projects of National Significance initiatives and one HRSA funded dissemination of evidence-based interventions project to optimize HIV care delivery for vulnerable and multiply stigmatized populations.
