Sharon Hillier, PhD, a Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences and Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, is the Rustbelt CFAR MPI. A recognized leader in HIV biomedical prevention, Dr. Hillier has more than 30 years’ experience leading microbicide research including first in human studies through funding provided to the Microbicide Trials Network (1995-2021), three NIH funded U19 programs in topical microbicides and a Program project cooperative agreement.
